Finite and Infinite Scheduling

Every resource, labor, machine, tool or subcontract, is defined with its own capacity by date, shift or period and marked finite or infinite individually, so the schedule is strict exactly where the constraint is real and loose everywhere else.

The Graphical Dispatch Board

Scheduling automation runs forward, backward, priority-based and critical-ratio logic to generate the baseline plan, which a scheduler reviews on a visual dispatch board that can be deployed at work stations themselves, giving the floor the same view as the planner.

Resolving Overloads

Where a finite resource is overloaded, the board and dispatch list flag it immediately: the system can move work into the next available timeframe automatically, or a planner drags it to an alternate date or work center and sees the load impact instantly, before committing to the change.

Importing the Firmed Schedule

Once a schedule is firmed, it imports back into Visibility ERP for execution, enforcing operation sequences and work order hierarchies, so the shop floor runs the schedule that was actually adjusted rather than the one originally planned.

Can finite and infinite scheduling run together?

Yes, per resource. Constrained work centers run finite while flexible ones run infinite, which keeps the schedule honest at the bottleneck without over-constraining everything else.

What counts as a resource?

Labor, machines, tools and subcontract operations, each with capacity defined by date, shift or period. Load is calculated from the work order operations flowing through each resource.

Does it resolve overloads automatically?

It can. Overloaded finite resources are flagged on the board and dispatch list; the Shop Control scheduling engine can move the operation to the next available timeframe automatically, or the planner adjusts it by drag and drop with the impact visible immediately.
